The MCFI L.I.F.E. Academy features:
Individualized Assessment and Planning
Our L.I.F.E. Coach helps teens and young adults take a closer look at their personal interests, abilities, and immediate and long-term goals. Together, we'll create a practical, step-by-step plan for achieving your own definition of success!
Experiential Instruction
L.I.F.E. Academy courses know no boundaries. You'll be joining us for experiences like rock climbing, gardening and dance in addition to classroom-style instruction. Your confidence will grow as you learn the skills you'll need to get and keep a job, live independently, connect with the community and expand your network of friends and colleagues.
Career Development
MCFI's experts in Employment Services and Long-Term Care will work with you to explore your career options, as well as volunteer opportunities in the community. We'll assist you in working with the DVR process, sharpen your job skills and meet local employers.
Social Opportunities
You'll widen your circle of friends as you join us for exciting social events at L.I.F.E. Academy. Look for invitations to dances, holiday celebrations, dinners out and many other opportunities to have a great time in a safe, inclusive setting.
Parent Engagement
Parents of L.I.F.E. Academy participants are encouraged to learn with us. Parent networking groups and learning seminars help ease the transition from high school to adult life for parents as well as teens.
