Independent Care Inc. (iCare)

Independent Care Inc. is a health and social services Medicaid or Title 19 program formed in 1994 as a joint venture between Humana Wisconsin Health Organization and MCFI. Independent Care coordinates medical, dental, behavioral health, vision and prescription drug coverage for more than 6,000 people ages 19 and older with physical, developmental or emotional disabilities to ensure that they are receiving the care they need. iCare received a national award for excellence in the 1997 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services "Models That Work" competition.
