About MCFI
Mission

To assist individuals and families iwth special needs to better live and work in the community.

Size

MCFI has an annual budget of $52 million, with 525 employees. About 50 volunteers serve on our boards and committees, and about 350 other volunteers assist our work in various ways.

Children's Services, Long-Term Care and Therapies, Mental Health and Employment Services

 

Clients Served
  • There were 5,879 individual participants in our core & Express L.I.F.E. programs in 2008. With the addition of our school nutrition program and MCFI affiliates, our agency served nearly 25,500 people in 2008.
  • More than 75% of our clients have incomes below federal poverty guidelines.
  • 2008 MCFI client disabilities are as follows (core programs only):
    • 66% physical/medical
    • 28% cognitive
    • 5% mental illness
    • 1% other
  • 2008 MCFI client demographics are as follows:
    • 58% are women
    • 60% are minority
    • 51% are age 60 and older; 20% ages 40-59; 17% ages 20-39; 4% ages 4-19; and 8% ages birth to 3
