Early intervention in a child's life, whether they have a special need or are typically developing, is vital in helping them fulfill their developmental potential as an adult. Whether receiving therapy at home, taking music and movement classes out in the community or learning their shapes, colors and numbers at our charter school, children who attend MCFI programs gain a strong foundation for their social and academic growth and development.
Pediatric Special Care
The MCFI Pediatric Special Care unit provides quality day nursing services to children with special health care needs. Children in the program benefit from educational and developmental programming, opportunities to interact with other children and older adults, and participation in community activities. Children and their families have access to Birth to Three services, physical, speech and occupational therapies, and complete medical monitoring and management.
A board-certified pediatrician serves as medical director and the unit is staffed by specialized pediatric nurses, specially trained nursing assistants and caring volunteers. The unit is child-care licensed and certified by Medicaid and the Joint Commission.
