MCFI clients learn to garden, nurturing plants from seed to harvest.

Growing abilities!

Horticultural therapy is an important part of MCFI's rehabilitative programming for children, adults and older adults with special needs. The program is centered on the needs of the client and includes specific goals for each participant.

Horticultural therapy engages the senses, nurtures well-being and builds independence. The MCFI program includes:

  • Plant propogation
  • Design
  • Landscaping
  • Construction
  • Gardening
  • Plant care 

Clients have the opportunity to participate in community gardening at Firefly Ridge and sell their produce during Market Days at MCFI.
